About Me

I started my career in GE Capital's Financial Management Program, a two year rotational program which brought me to various finance offices around the world, from Connecticut to Paris. I continued to work in Finance at GE for two more years, before leaving to get my MBA from Harvard Business School (HBS). During my time at HBS, I had the opportunity to take some time away from the workforce and truly think about what I wanted to achieve personally and professionally. It was at this moment I realized my career was more than just a way of paying the bills; it was an important piece of my personal happiness. With this in mind, I decided to bring myself one step closer to my dreams of being an entrepreneur by gaining experience at high growth startup in SF. Now how does one go from being a Financial Analyst at one of the world's largest companies to becoming a Product Manager at a 20-person startup? Well, as my quote suggests - a lot of preparation and the right opportunity. I've always had a passion for sharing my career story, in hopes of encouraging others to take inventory of their career goals and consider taking the risks needed to get there. As a Career Rep at HBS, I helped my classmates navigate the competitive recruiting process, including conducting resume and cover letter reviews for roles in consulting, banking, technology, retail and more. In my most recent role as Director of Product at Path, I was responsible for interviewing candidates across multiple teams including product, marketing, engineering, and design. Through these different roles, I've had perspective from both sides of the table and truly understand what makes a great candidate stand out. In December 2015, I left my product role at Path to start my own company in the culinary space. I've always been passionate about cooking, and explored this interest over the last year through blogging, networking, and researching the industry. Now, I'm the Founder of Confetti Kitchen, a culinary media and commerce company focused on empowering millennials to become healthier and happier cooks. So whether you're looking to transition into a new function or industry, applying for your dream job, contemplating MBA programs, or considering founding a company, I'm here to answer your questions and help you come up with an effective game plan. My goal is to get you as prepared as you can be for the great career opportunity you deserve.

Define what you want. Don't wait for anyone to hand it to you.

"I was suffering for 3 weeks wanting to have a serious talk about my career goals and next steps. I found Cynthia's career path so aligned to my own career ambitions . I purchased a session and Cynthia immediately gave me the earliest slot(the very next day). That helped a lot as I did not have to wait long. I sent her a summary of strengths/weakness/Challenges and questions. That helped a lot for Cynthia to know more about my background and we got straight to the questions in our session. Cynthia set the aim of the session is to come out with action items. She went through all my questions and categorized as revisit later/immediate actions. She emphasized on my actions, gave tips and tools to carry out each option considering my constraints . I am perfectly clear on my career goals/actions for the next year now. We also had time to review my resume very quickly. I want to thank Cynthia and Career Contessa to have this awesome program. A lot of my friends are already asking me about this. It was well worth it and recommend anyone who want to move forward to use this mentorship program and Cynthia as a mentor. "

"Working with Cynthia was incredibly helpful! I submitted a list of questions and concerns related to starting a job search and marketing myself when I booked the session, and she came prepared to talk through all of them. She gave solid feedback on my resume with actionable suggestions for how to really make my accomplishments stand out, and had an awesome list of product management resources for me to explore and familiarize myself with, including some that are local to my geographical region. I now feel really confident and prepared going into my job search - I'm so glad to have Cynthia on my team! "

"Cynthia was great! She was so easy to talk to and super personable. We were able to touch on a number of topics during our session. Not only did she help me fine tune my resume, but the way she articulated what she “heard” me communicate about the companies I was targeting proved extremely valuable in regards to helping me craft my story. Would highly recommend! "
