The Career Contessa Spring Book Round-Up

We have a roundup of our favorite and best books to read for spring 2020, including Power Moves!

You didn’t think we were going to let spring get started without a fresh book roundup, now did you?
At Career Contessa, we’re big fans of this time of year. The days get a little longer so that we have some actual daylight after we finish our workdays. The temperatures start to warm up enough to allow us to get some outdoor reading done (if we can while socially distancing ourselves, of course).

This year, in particular, a new read seems like the best way to combat the indoor-blues. Take a look at our roundup below highlighting everything from the hard-working authors who’ve released a book during the time of the coronavirus, to our favorite staff picks, and everything in between.

Newest Spring Release Shelf

As we hinted at above, we’ve been keeping an eye on all of the cool new book releases sharing shelf space with Power Moves this spring. In addition to trying to let people know about your book during an unprecedented pandemic, writing a book is just plain hard! It’s a work of love, and the time, attention and detail paid to the books below shows.

Career Contessa Shelf

Our team is fortunate to regularly have first-access to some of the best and brightest books released out there each season. While we do our best to absorb each and every professional and self-help title that comes our way, we also like to shake things up with a few personal favorites, as well. Here are some of our favorite recent reads (and those we’re still getting around to!):

Lauren McGoodwin, Founder + CEO

Aliya Kamalova, Video Producer

Caileen Holden, Content Director

Learn Something Shelf

Spring is also a great time for growth, stretching ourselves and trying something new. Dig deep into some valuable life lessons and good reads below highlighting some of our favorite queer and BIPOC writers and subjects.

Digital and Beyond

Looking beyond the old-fashioned printed book? Go digital! In addition to connecting over your favorite reads in person, you can also join the worldwide discussion of young authors and readers at this spring’s Everywhere Book Fest
Do you like to read on the go, or just hate holding things? Maybe eBooks are more your speed! Your local library has plenty of online apps like Libby or Overdrive, or you can support your favorite local bookstore and snag one of the above books for your Kindle.
Lastly, we know audiobooks are the hot new thing. Try a new title on Audible, or listen to alternative titles with Libro.fm
*We want to let you know that some of these links are affiliate links. That means when you purchase some of the items we listed, Career Contessa could earn a small commission at no cost to you. We only recommend items we know and love. Thank you for supporting the brands that help support Career Contessa.
