About Me

Hi, I’m Mayra Valdez — a career and leadership development professional, Latina, first-generation college graduate, and proud mother of three. My work is rooted in a deep commitment to helping professionals grow, navigate their careers with confidence, and build lives that feel aligned and meaningful. My own journey shaped my passion for this work. While working full-time and raising three young children, I pursued my education and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, my Master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and my PhD in Human Development. These experiences strengthened my understanding of the personal and professional challenges many individuals face while trying to grow in their careers and create opportunities for themselves and their families. Professionally, I have held progressive leadership and organizational development roles within large healthcare systems, where I have supported leaders, teams, and employees through organizational change, leadership development, workforce transformation, and employee well-being initiatives. Through this work, I have coached and supported professionals at multiple career stages as they navigate growth, change, and leadership challenges. As a career coach, I specialize in helping professionals gain clarity, build confidence, and take intentional steps toward the careers they want. My approach combines evidence-based insight from organizational psychology and human development with practical strategies that help clients move forward in meaningful ways. I am so glad that I booked a session with Mayra. I wanted to book a session with someone who would be able to help me navigate the next steps to feel fulfilled in my career and volunteer life. My online presence, resume, and Cover Letter are all up to date so it was refreshing just to have a conversation with someone who could help me get to the bottom of my passions and next steps. I did not know what to expect from this coaching session because I left it very open ended, but it was beyond any expectations that I had.
