About Me

I am Dr. Ciera Graham. I am a Seattle Native, millennial and lover of all things travel, social justice, self-empowerment, and career development. I have worked in education, nonprofit, and local government. I have over 10 years of experience in helping new/recent college grads, and entry to mid-level professionals discover their passions, leverage their skills and strengths, and increase their marketability on the job market. I consider myself a versatile career coach who has worked with clients in diverse industries from technology to education. I have built meaningful relationships with employers, and I love connecting clients to industry partners. I started and built a consulting business from the ground up, and I provide career coaching and freelance writing services. I have established myself as a leading freelance writer, writing on topics pertaining to the career experiences of women, people of color and millennials. My writing has been featured in Career Contessa, The Seattle Times, The Everett Herald, Entrepreneur, Medium and Best Colleges. Clients appreciate my strong writing skills in helping them clarify and communicate their skills and accomplishments on paper. For entry level clients, I am able to mentor them on how to leverage their experiences to showcase their value, even with minimal work experience. For mid-level professionals, I provide advice and guidance on how to succinctly tell stories that showcase your impact and value over the course of a 10-15 year work history. I strongly believe that career coaching isn't just for those in C-Suite or executive level roles. I understand the career needs and challenges facing entry level to mid-level professionals, and I enjoy helping clients through career shifts, pivots and transitions. If you are currently experiencing a career rut, where you are unsure of how your current skills and experience translate to other industries, I am your coach. In these situations, clients take my customized career inventory, where they are provided a list of jobs that utilize their skills, as well as guidance on how to sell themselves in each of these different jobs. I have a counseling background so my goal is centered on empowering my clients to realize their potential and activate the greatness that lies within them. I am a results oriented career coach with an impeccable record of helping clients secure interviews and jobs. I follow up with session notes within 24 hours, provide highly detailed, direct and customized feedback, and my clients always walk away feeling as if they have learned something tangible, even in a short time. Central to my identity is being a woman of color--so I operate with a cultural lens and sensitivity to the unique career needs and experiences of women of color. My services are broad and include the following: • Resume and cover development • Curriculum Vitae development for those pursuing teaching or research positions • Job search strategy • Interview Preparation (creating your pitch, STAR method and behavioral style interviews, zoom, panel, and group interviews) • How to start a career as a freelance writer • LinkedIn optimization • Graduate school preparation (applying to graduate school, personal statement, choosing a graduate major focus and/or degree program, and choosing a thesis or dissertation topic) • Salary negotiation skills • Using Social Media platforms to advance your job search • Building Networking skills (in person and via social media) • Life Skills (time management, test-taking, and note-taking skills) • Coaching for women and people of color around issues of navigating systemic discrimination, and barriers that impact their advancement and promotion I believe in creating a customized and personalized experience for all of my clients. Working with Ciera was a gift. Rather quickly, through thoughtful questioning and intent listening, Ciera was able to grasp who I am and distill possible career options for me. In subsequent sessions, she helped me hone my resume and cover letter to make me marketable in those new roles, and she offered me valuable advice. If, like me, you have a complicated story, or if you seek clarity, direction, advice, or practical feedback, I would highly recommend to you Dr. Ciera Graham.

Dr. Graham was professional, friendly, and communicative. She reviewed my resume in a timely manner and provided very concrete examples of how I could improve it. I thought I would feel intimidated or nervous talking to her, as this was my first career coaching experience -- however, she immediately put me at ease. She was very easy to talk to and I would recommend her as a career coach.

Would definitely recommend working with Ciera if you're looking for a resume refresh, and job search help! Ciera gave me actionable and constructive feedback on my resume. She was gentle, but the advice and opinions were SO helpful in editing my resume and I am now very proud of it! I appreciate her business acumen, the way she is able to provide feedback for other industries, and most of all, that I can ask her all of my questions without ever feeling bad about them. Last thing - it's also really helpful that she provides follow up emails with notes and next steps after each meeting!
