The Category Manager at NerdWallet is responsible for high-growth businesses that are earlier in building out market scale. You will have a unique ability to lead and manage a key business for a fast-growing and innovative startup. The successful candidate is resourceful, creative, and analytical. The role will work across all major functions at NerdWallet, including Marketing, Content, Public Relations, Partnerships, Product, and Business Operations, in order to grow the business. The position reports to a Group General Manager and is located at our headquarters in San Francisco.

Where you can make an impact:

  • Be accountable for growing and delivering the P&Ls for our high-growth pre-scale businesses
  • Lead strategy, planning, and execution with cross-functional teams aligned to and supporting the business
  • Manage business development to deliver on revenue growth through partnerships or pricing growth
  • Partner with product teams to deliver on the consumer experience
  • Increase customer acquisition through marketing and content generation

Your experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in strategic and operating roles with proven results from taking strategy through successful execution
  • Proven track record of delivering and exceeding business results in managing a business
  • Deep understanding of internet and digital business models, strategies, and eco-systems
  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to become an expert on their business vertical
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and influencing across the company in a matrixed environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in Personal Loans, Student Loans, Small Business Loans, or Insurance helpful, but not required
